Fashion Week Favorites: A new look at Oscar de la Renta

Wednesday, February 15, 2017

Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia, of the label Monse and who once worked with Mr. de la Renta for many years before his death in 2014, debuted their first collection as creative directors for Oscar de la Renta at New York Fashion Week fall 2017 ready-to-wear.

The designers showed their Oscar de la Renta collection directly after showing their Monse one.

The first show ushered in a new modern, ultra sexy look for the fashion house, while preserving the ladylike sophistication that the brand is known for.

My favorites included two sexy tuxedo looks, one with with a waist length jacket, the other velvet with a peplum jacket; a fabulous red fur coat; and a jumpsuit embellished with a gold flower on the bodice.

Looking forward to what Kim and Garcia cook up next.  The full collection can be found at vogue.com.
